"When the weather is nice, it is a fantastic place to view Lake Michigan. The sandy walk along the beach along with the more secluded path in the woods provides for a great short hike when you want a breath of fresh air. The only issue I had was the somewhat limited parking that is a bit luck-based whether you can find a spot."

"Easy access to the water and the ship canal. The farthest lot gets you to the water and a short loop. This is perfect with small kids. Less than a mile of relatively flat. Woods + water, they will be entertained without being miles from the car. No bathroom and you do practice leave no trace. I recommend brining your coffee down and watching the sun rise."
